FAQs
Which design services does Michelle Accetta Home offer?
I provide full-service interior design for whole homes and single rooms—furnishings, finishes, and styling included. My core services are:
Full home and single room interior design with complete furnishings and styling
Kitchen and bathroom remodels, as well as whole-home remodels within the existing footprint (reimagining layouts and floor plans without adding on)
New build construction, guiding finishes, flow, and furnishings from the ground up
In addition, I take on boutique hotel, restaurant, coffee shop, and small commercial projects by request.
Who is the best fit for your services?
Busy homeowners, investors, boutique hotel owners, and Airbnb hosts who want a thoughtful, high-end look without doing all the legwork. You value function, flow, and beauty, appreciate expert guidance, and are open to a curated, step-by-step process.
What areas do you serve?
I serve the greater Los Angeles area and am open to projects anywhere. Virtual design is also available for select scopes.
How does your design process work?
We start with an initial consultation to understand your goals and vision. Then you’ll receive a tailored proposal. From there we move into Design Concepts → Detailed Plan & Selections → Procurement & Tracking → Installation & Styling → Final Walkthrough. Think of it as a design journey: we dream it, plan it, bring it to life, and celebrate the finished space together.
What happens during the initial consultation?
We walk the space, clarify goals, priorities, budget, and timeline, and review inspiration. I take notes and measurements as needed and outline next steps. Afterward you’ll receive a recap and a proposal tailored to your scope.
How long does a typical project take?
Furnishing-only rooms often complete in about 8–14 weeks once we begin procurement. Kitchen and bathroom remodels vary based on scope, approvals, trades, and lead times. Your proposal will include an estimated timeline.
How are design fees structured?
A fixed design fee per space based on scope. Furnishings and materials are purchased through me. Everything is itemized in your proposal before we begin.
How should I think about budget?
We align the vision and quality level to your budget during the consultation. I love to create balance by mixing high-investment pieces with more accessible finds, ensuring every room feels luxurious, functional, and uniquely yours. The goal is investment pieces that look beautiful and wear well, complemented by thoughtful accents.
Do you pass along trade discounts?
I leverage trade accounts to access quality vendors and often secure favorable pricing. Savings and discounts vary by vendor and are applied at my discretion as part of a curated package.
Can you incorporate items I already own?
Absolutely. I love mixing heirlooms and existing pieces with new selections. We’ll assess what supports the design and what should be rehomed.
Do you offer e-design or virtual services?
Yes—limited availability. Best for single rooms and refreshes. You’ll receive a floor plan, selections, and a shoppable list; you handle ordering and installation.
Do you work with contractors and trades?
Yes. I collaborate closely with engineers and contractors; you select the final vendors. I provide drawings/specs as needed and coordinate design intent so the build matches the vision.
Do you integrate smart home technology?
Yes. I work with trusted trades to seamlessly integrate smart home features—lighting, sound, climate control, security, and more—so your home is both technologically advanced and beautifully designed. The goal is effortless function wrapped in elevated style.
What is your policy on returns, damages, and lead times?
Many custom and trade items are final sale. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, I manage claims and replacements. Lead times vary by vendor and season; I’ll keep you updated throughout procurement.
Do you design boutique hotels, restaurants, or small commercial spaces?
Yes. Hospitality is a passion—durable materials, code considerations, and brand story are baked into the design. Let’s talk about your concept and timeline.
Do you offer wellness and Feng Shui design?
Yes. I take a wellness-driven approach that considers light, flow, color psychology, and natural materials to create spaces that support your health and well-being. As a certified Feng Shui consultant, I weave Feng Shui principles into every project so your home not only looks beautiful but also feels balanced, aligned, and supportive. I’ve developed a strategy that integrates beauty with balance so your home truly feels like a sanctuary.
Can you help prepare a home for sale?
Yes. I offer pre-list refreshes and light staging guidance to help your property show its best. Small, strategic updates can make a meaningful difference.
Do you provide 3D renderings?
Concept boards and 2D space plans are standard. 3D renderings are available upon request and may add time and cost.
Do you offer sustainable or low-tox options?
When it makes sense, I specify FSC-certified woods, low-VOC finishes, performance fabrics, and natural fibers. We can tailor materials to your preferences and sensitivities.
How do we get started?
